I lead the design of a SaaS platform built around Government Digital Service (GDS) guidelines, ensuring accessibility, clarity and user trust were embedded throughout.
The platform was designed to empower local council users with intuitive self-service tools, reducing dependency on support teams and enabling faster, more efficient access to key services and information.
Design tokens were created to manage colour palettes and typography styles in a structured, scalable way. This approach allowed for seamless theming across the platform, making it easy to adapt the visual identity for different brands without rewriting components or styles from scratch. It also laid the groundwork for consistent design implementation across both design and code.
The platform has been successfully adopted by a growing number of local councils and self-service organisations, significantly improving the user experience for residents and internal teams alike.
By streamlining key journeys and making tasks more intuitive to complete, it has reduced the need for manual support and intervention. This shift to digital self-service has helped organisations cut operational overheads, saving thousands in administrative costs while increasing efficiency and user satisfaction.
