Design systems
I lead the design of a composable design system built to support both the university’s global web presence and its diverse range of sub-brand landing pages.
The system was structured for flexibility, enabling individual departments, faculties, and campaigns to maintain visual coherence while tailoring content to their specific audiences.
As part of the foundation work, I conducted a full component audit to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for consolidation across the existing library. I then defined a scalable token structure covering typography, colour themes, and interaction states, enabling flexible theming across sub-brands and schools.
Tokens were exported from Figma to JSON to create a unified visual language across design and code. This setup allowed for easy theming and future expansion, ensuring consistency while supporting scalable design evolution.
Component variants were thoughtfully structured to provide extensive flexibility for the different content types, while maintaining visual coherence and usability across all contexts.
